Appeal after dog killed in Dundee hit-and-run crash

Police in Dundee are appealing for information and witnesses after a dog was killed in a hit-and-run incident with an off-road bike.

The incident took place on the Dighty Burn path, near Balunie Drive, around 3pm on Saturday, 19 August, 2023.

The dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was killed at the scene. The driver of the bike is described as wearing dark clothing and a helmet.

Constable Matthew Boath said: “This was understandably a traumatic incident for the owner, who was out walking their dog at the time.

“We are asking for anyone with information, or who may have seen the off-road bike and its rider in the area, to please come forward.

“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 2187 of 19 August, 2023.”
