Man who died in Fife crash named

A man who died in a motorcycle crash on the A917 in Fife has been formally identified.

He was Ryan Bayne, aged 28, from Leven.

In a statement his family said: “We are devastated and this is a tragic loss for us and everyone who knew Ryan. We ask for our privacy to be respected at this time.”

The incident happened around 9.50pm on Tuesday, 4 October, near Elie.

Ryan was riding a green and blue Kawasaki ZX9 from the direction of Leven towards Elie when the vehicle left the road.

Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was riding with a second man on a black and yellow Suzuki scrambler style motorcycle. The second motorcyclist was not involved in the crash and was uninjured.

Enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3441 of Tuesday, 4 October.
