Man charged in connection with fire in Jedburgh

A 72-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deliberate fire outside a shop in Jedburgh.

The incident happened on High Street around 1.40am on Tuesday, 25 October, 2022.

Nobody was injured in the incident and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

The 72-year-old man has been released on undertaking to appear at Jedburgh Sheriff Court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
