Man arrested in connection with theft of tyres in Lanarkshire

A 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a number of tyres from yards in Lanarkshire.

The incidents were reported at premises in Newmains and Chapelhall on a number of occasions through September.

A large quantity of the tyres have been recovered in Lanarkshire and Glasgow but a significant amount remain outstanding and further enquiries into the thefts remain ongoing.

The 46-year-old is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court at a later date.
