Man and woman charged following wilful fireraisings in Crosshouse

A 43-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with wilful firerasings in Crosshouse.

In the early hours of Friday, 19 August, 2022, police were called to a report of a fire at the Spar shop on Kilmarnock Road in Crosshouse. Around 1.25am on Monday, 29 August, 2022, police received a report of a car crashing into the Spar shop and a subsequent fire at the shop on Kilmarnock Road in Crosshouse.

The fires in both incidents were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no-one was injured.

The man and woman have been released on undertaking to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date.
