Man charged following Whitburn attempted robbery

Police in Whitburn have arrested and charged a 38-year-old man, following a report of an attempted robbery at a premises on Longridge Road.

The incident happened around 10.30am on Wednesday, 24 August, 2022. There were no injuries as a result.

Detective Sergeant Graham Garvie said: “This was an isolated incident and we’d like to commend the bravery and assistance of the staff and members of the public who were within the premises prior to officers arriving.”

The man is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Thursday, 25 August, 2022.
