Man named following diving incident, Burntisland

A man who died after getting into difficulty during an organised dive near Kinghorn beach, Burntisland, on Sunday, 10 April, has been named.

He was Les Elder, (pictured below) aged 45 from the Saline area.

His family have asked for privacy and released the following statement: “Les was a much loved family man and will be missed by everyone who knew him.”

The incident was reported to police around 9.55am and Mr Elder was recovered from the water but died a short time later.

As with all sudden deaths, a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
