Man charged following drugs recovery in Rutherglen

Officers have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man for drugs offences following the execution of a warrant in Rutherglen.

Around 12pm on Thursday, 14 April, 2022, officers executed a warrant at an address in the Baronald Street area and discovered a cannabis cultivation with an estimated street value of £130,000.

The man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Saturday, 16 April.

Inspector Kevin Miller, of Rutherglen Police Station, said: “We have taken drugs off the street during this operation and have arrested one individual.

“Taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland and we will ensure Rutherglen remains a hostile environment for anyone looking to engage in criminality.

“Anybody with any information or concerns about drugs within their community should contact police via 101 where we can then investigate.”
