Training, leadership and development
Scottish Police College - Tulliallan is both Police Scotland’s Corporate Headquarters and a key training venue.
It is one of Police Scotland’s training sites. It holds historical significance to training police officers and staff in Scotland.
It is set in 90 acres of parkland in the centre of Scotland. The early 19th century Tulliallan Castle is at its heart.
It is the United Kingdom’s only central Police College which provides all police training in one establishment.
Tulliallan has also been Scotland’s central recruit training base for over 50 years. It opened for police training in 1954.
We provide many different training and learning opportunities, including (but not limited to):
- Leadership and Management Courses
- Detective, Covert and Crime Prevention Training
- Road Policing and Driver Training
- Crime and Intelligence Analysis and Emerging Technology Training.
- Police Officer Recruit Training.
We deliver training in many different ways:
- Classroom based teaching

- Practical and Situational training.
All of our courses and programmes are subject to the Police Scotland National Framework for Quality Assurance in Training and Education.
