Man sentenced for offences involving a woman and child in Angus
Today (Friday, 14 January, 2022) Lewis Smith, 27, was sentenced at Edinburgh High Court to a six year custodial sentence, after he was found guilty of serious violent offences involving a woman and a child between 2016 and 2020.
Detective Constable Lynsay McKinlay of Police Scotland's Public Protection Unit said: “Smith will now face the consequences of his actions and we hope this outcome will allow the victims to move forward with their lives.
“We worked closely with our partner agencies, who assisted in providing all the relevant support and assistance to our victims.
"This conviction should send out a clear message that Police Scotland is committed to bringing the perpetrators of these type of offences to justice.”
