Appeal for witnesses following road crash - A77 near Spittalhill, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire
Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist was seriously injured following a collision with a van southbound on the A77 near Spittalhill, Kilmarnock around 12.40 pm on Friday, 28 January, 2022.
The 55-year old motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock where he remains for treatment. Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.
The 21-year-old male van driver was not injured.
Sergeant Craig Beaver, Ayrshire Roads Policing, said:
"Although a number of motorists stopped at the time to assist, we still need people who witnessed or who maybe have dashcam footage of the collision to get in touch. If you were on the A77 around the time, and can assist with our enquiries, then please call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 1391 of Friday, 28 January, 2022.
“The road has re-opened.”
