Detectives following positive line of enquiry following death of Scott Boyd in Kirkmuirhill
Detectives are following a positive line of enquiry following the death of a man in Kirkmuirhill.
Police were called to a report of two men found in the Braeside Crescent area around 4.45am on Wednesday, 27 August, 2025.
Scott Boyd, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a post mortem examination, his death is being treated as a murder.
A 35-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment but has since been released.
Detective Chief Inspector Bob Williamson from the Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Boyd at this very difficult time. We are continuing to provide them with support as our investigation continues.
“Extensive enquiries are being carried out by officers and specialist resources, and we are now following a positive line of enquiry.
“We would like to thank the public in the local community who have supported our investigation so far."
Local Area Commander, Chief Inspector Sarah McArthur said: “We will remain in the area while investigations are continuing, and anyone with concerns should speak to officers."
