Appeal for information after council depo broken into in Aberdeenshire
Detectives in Aberdeenshire are appealing for information following a break in and theft at a council premises.
Overnight between Friday, 7 November and Saturday, 8 November, 2025, an Aberdeenshire Council depo in Harlaw Road, Inverurie was broken in to and had goods taken. This includes tools, two trailers, a JCB mini digger, and a generator and the cost of the equipment is valued at £50,000.
Detective Constable Ailis Mercer said: "We're appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident or with any information to get in touch.
"We believe a green Jaguar X Type, which was later found burned out in Meikle Wartle, Inverurie, and a blue Transit style van were used to carry out this theft.
'I'd also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage to check it in case it has captured anything that could assist our enquiries."
