Appeal to help trace man missing from Prestwick

Police are appealing for information to help trace a man missing from Prestwick.

Ian Thomson, 61, was last seen in the Calvinston Road area of Prestwick, around 10.30am on Thursday, 6 November, 2025.

He is described as being around 5ft 10in tall, of slim build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

When last seen he was wearing black trousers, a black zipper top and black trainers.

Ian is believed to be travelling in a red Mazda CX5, registration DM21FMV and his vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on the Erskine Bridge around 1.50pm on Thursday, 6 November, 2025.

Inspector Christopher Cochrane said: “It is out of character for Ian not to be in touch with his family and as time passes concerns are growing.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who has seen Ian or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was travelling in the area and saw the vehicle or has dash cam footage which may assist to get in touch.”
