Appeal for information after body found near Ballachullish
Officer in Fort William are appealing for information after the body of a 52-year-old man was found close to the cycle path just south of the Ballachullish roundabout around 10.25am on Thursday, 6 November, 2025.
The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. His next of kin is aware.
From enquiries so far, officers understand the man left the Ballachullish Hotel around 8.30pm on Monday, 2 November, 2025 with the intention of walking along the footpath alongside the A82 south towards Balluchulish.
Detective Inspector Bilton said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and we are appealing for the help of the public to establish the last movements of the man as he made his way from the Ballachulish Hotel.
“I would urge anyone who was driving on the A82 around this time to think back – did you see someone in the area?
“I am asking anyone with dash-cam footage to from this time to get in touch.”
