Appeal for help to trace Ethan Petrie, 12, missing in Glenrothes

Officers are appealing for the help of the public to trace a 12-year-old boy reported missing in Glenrothes.

Ethan Petrie was last seen around 8.50pm on Sunday, 9 November, at a wooded area near Woodburn Road.

He is described as around 5ft 5ins, of slim build, with short, fair hair. When last seen he was wearing a dark coloured hoodie and body warmer.

Inspector Gavin Alcorn said: “Concerns are growing for Ethan’s welfare and we need to make sure he is safe and well.

“We are asking anyone who has seen Ethan or knows where he might be to get in touch.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 3202 of Sunday, 9 November, 2025.
