Officers are continuing to appeal for help to trace a man missing from Livingston
Officers are continuing to appeal for help to trace a man reported missing from Livingston.
Alan Niven, 54, was last seen in Tweed Drive in the Craigshill area of the town in the early hours of Saturday, 12 July, 2025.
Following enquiries, a previous sighting of a man, believed to be Alan on Tweed Drive, Livingston at around 11.20am on Sunday, 13 July, wearing a blue t-shirt, dark trousers and carrying a white bag, was found not to be him.
Alan is described as around 5ft 8 in height, of slim build with short red/auburn hair. He has a distinctive scull tattoo on his left arm. He also has a scroll like tattoo on his upper right arm. His clothing when last seen is not known.
Inspector David McMillan said: “Our enquiries to trace Alan are ongoing. We had an image of who we believed to be Alan from 13 July. Enquiries have shown this is not Alan, making the last time he was seen as the early hours of Saturday, 12 July in Tweed Drive.
“It is out of character for Alan not to be in touch with family and friends and as time passes concerns are growing for his welfare.
“I would ask anyone who has seen Alan or who has any information on his welfare to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to contact us.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 2977 of 14 July, 2025.
