Appeal for information following wilful fires in Aberdeen
Detectives are appealing for information following wilful fires at four properties in Aberdeen.
Three of the incidents happened between 11pm on Friday, 4 July, and 4.30am on Saturday, 5 July, 2025.
An exterior doorway was set on fire at a property on Cummings Park Crescent, a shed was set on fire in Provost Rust Drive and a small fire was set at a property on Birkhall Parade.
Around 3am on Sunday, 6 July, another fire was set at a property on Provost Rust Drive.
Emergency services attended and all fires were extinguished quickly by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no injuries.
Detective Sergeant Niall Mullen said: “Thankfully, no one was harmed as a result of these fires however these were reckless acts, and we are carrying out a number of enquiries to establish the full circumstances.
“We believe these fires were targeted and are all linked. There is no further risk to the wider public.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around these times and may have witnessed anything to please contact us.
“In addition, anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage is asked to get in touch as this may be able to assist our investigation. Dedicated patrols will remain in these areas throughout the coming days and nights.”
