Appeal for information following death of man in Ayr
Police Scotland is appealing for information following the death of a man in Ayr.
Around 8.10pm on Saturday, 5 July, 2025, emergency services were called to a report of a 42-year-old man found seriously injured in a flat in Glenmuir Place.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and the death is being treated as suspicious.
Extensive enquiries are being carried out by detectives and specialist resources to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Detective Inspector Steven Slater of the Major Investigation Team said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died at this very difficult time. They are being supported by specialist officers.
“Officers are carrying out several lines of enquiry and there will be a continued visible police presence in the area. Anyone with concerns can speak to these officers.
“If you were in the area at the time of this incident and saw anything that could assist with our investigation then please get in touch, no matter how small that piece of information might be.
“In particular, I am asking people to check private CCTV or doorbell footage and see if anything has been captured that could be important. Likewise, if you were driving in the area and have dash-cam that could assist, please contact us.”
