Man arrested following fatal crash in Glasgow

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash on Castlebank Street in Glasgow.

The crash happened around 8.45pm on Tuesday, 2 December, 2025, at a crossing island near to the entrance for Burger King and Starbucks.

The female pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but pronounced dead a short time after arrival.

The car left the scene prior to police arrival and was later traced.

The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and has since re-opened.

A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection and enquiries are ongoing.
