Appeal following fatal crash on Castlebank Street, Glasgow
A pedestrian has died after being struck by car on Castlebank Street in Glasgow.
The crash happened around 8.45pm on Tuesday, 2 December, 2025 at a crossing island near to the entrance for Burger King and Starbucks.
The female pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but pronounced dead a short time after arrival.
She was struck by a small black or dark coloured car, which failed to stop at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify and trace the vehicle.
The road remains closed and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
Sergeant Stewart Taylor, of the Police Scotland Roads Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the young woman who has died in this incident.
“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances and identify the car and driver involved are ongoing.
“We would urge anyone who may have seen anything or may have CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area to get in touch.
“The vehicle involved is described as being a small, dark coloured ‘city car’ model which was travelling west on Castlebank Street at the time of the collision.
“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 3039 of 2 December, 2025.”
