Appeal after man serious assaulted and robbed in Dumfries

Detectives in Dumfries are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted and robbed in the town.

Between 5am and 6.30am on Sunday, 10 August, 2025 the 33-year-old was walking on Glasgow Road, near Cuckoobridge, when he was approached by a man aged around 40-years-old.

He was seriously assaulted and robbed of personal possessions.

The 33-year-old man attended Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Detective Constable Grant Middlemiss said: “Enquires are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

"If you were within the area of Glasgow Road, Dumfries between 5am and 6.30am on Sunday morning and have any information or dash-cam footage or which may assist us in our investigation, please contact police."
