Day of Action - Broxden, Perth
Officers from Police Scotland, British Transport Police and Trading Standards carried out a day of action targeting County Lines activity on road and rail networks in Tayside.
On Friday, 25 August, 2023, local officers, CID, Road Policing and Dog Unit officers, took part in the activity throughout the day at Broxden in Perth. British Transport Police carried out activity at Perth Train Station.
The purpose of the day of action was to target travelling criminals and enforce our commitment to road and rail safety.
Detective Inspector Scott Carswell of CID in Tayside said: “Disrupting the activities of criminals on our roads continues to be a priority for Police Scotland.
“We work closely with our colleagues at British Transport Police to target travelling criminals, ensuring any drivers, vehicles or passengers linked to criminal activity will be caught.
“Days of action are an example of this work and we also want to create a safer road network for all users.
“There is no place for criminality in Tayside and I would urge anyone with concerns to report them to Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively to Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 anonymously.”
Detective Inspector Raymond Smillie of BTP CID said:
“Deterring and disrupting criminal activity across the rail network is a key priority for British Transport Police.
“We are working in partnership with our Police Scotland colleagues to target the rail and road network in Tayside for travelling criminals, making it a hostile environment and ensuring the rail network remains safe and secure for the travelling public.
“I would urge any travelling rail passengers who have any concerns regarding criminality on the rail network to report this discreetly through the Railway Guardian App, Text 61016 or alternatively to Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 anonymously.”
