Appeal for information following housebreakings in Dundee
Officers in Dundee are investigating a series of housebreakings which occurred across the city between Saturday, 30 October and Sunday, 31 October 2021.
A number of houses were targeted in the areas of Glamis Road, Dalrymple Terrace, Forfar Road, Broughty Ferry Road, Donald Gardens and Vorlich Drive.
On each occasion, two male suspects tried to gain entry to the rear of properties by smashing windows or patio doors but were disturbed on a number of occasions by householders before making off from the scene.
However, on one occasion, in Donald Gardens, they managed to gain access and steal a quantity of jewellery and cash.
The first suspect is described as a white male, around 5ft10, wearing a black cap and had a goatee beard. The second is only described as possibly wearing all black clothing.
Detective Constable Amanda Sharp from the pro-active CID, Dundee, said:
“We believe the suspects were specifically targeting houses where they believed there would be high value jewellery and it is vital we identify and trace them as quickly as possible.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed the two suspects in any of the areas mentioned, or anything else at all suspicious, to please get in touch.
“Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting reference number 4165 of 31 October, 2021. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
