Area Commander Chief Inspector Scott Richardson is the Area Commander for the south west and is responsible for response policing, performance management and the daily management of personnel. South West Area Command This a diverse area comprising a range of housing types and tenures, as well as a mixture of commercial, light industrial, retail, leisure facilities and green spaces. It comprises both areas of relative affluence, with higher levels of educational attainment and employment levels, and areas with significant levels of social need, relating to higher than average unemployment and poverty. Locality Improvement Plans With our partners, we have asked individuals and community groups for their views on local priorities and services. Using that feedback, we have worked together to develop four Locality Improvement Plans for 2017 to 2022. The Edinburgh Partnership endorsed these plans on 7 December 2017.
