Area Commander Chief Inspector Gill Geany is the Area Commander for the north east and is responsible for response policing, performance management and the daily management of personnel. North East Command This area covers the east side of Edinburgh, which contains a historic castle, award winning parks, nearby beaches and lots of green space to enjoy. Various community projects and social housing schemes backed by local government funding are rejuvenating some of the more socially deprived areas, offering improved access to services and challenging inequalities to enhance community wellbeing. The area also accommodates the city's largest retail developments at Fort Kinnaird and Seafield, attracting commerce from across the region. Your Priorities We are acting on priorities to influence policing activity in your area. For more information you can visit the Multi Member Ward plans in your local pages. Locality Improvement Plans With our partners, we have asked individuals and community groups for their views on local priorities and services. Using that feedback, we have worked together to develop four Locality Improvement Plans for 2017 to 2022. The Edinburgh Partnership endorsed these plans on 7 December 2017. You can read more information and download the full plans on the City of Edinburgh Council’s website.
