Appeal after attempted robbery in Aberdeen

Detectives in Aberdeen are appealing for information following an attempted robbery that took place in the Kincorth area.

The incident happened at SPAR on Provost Watt Drive and was reported at around 10pm last night (Thursday 19 September).

A man wearing a balaclava entered the shop and presented a weapon at the two members of staff, who were uninjured but shaken by the events.

Detective Inspector Sam Buchan, of Ellon CID, said: “We are following a number of positive lines of inquiry and are keen to hear from anyone who was in the Provost Watt Drive area around the time of the incident.

“The man responsible is believed to be in his early 20s and from the local area.
