Man charged following robbery of elderly woman, Hilltown, Dundee

Police Scotland can confirm that a 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the robbery involving an elderly woman in Hilltown, Dundee.

Officers were called to a playpark on Stirling Street around 5.30pm on Tuesday 15 October 2019, after the 83-year-old victim was assaulted and had her bag stolen.

The man is due to appear in Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday 18 October.

Detective Inspector Gavin McKinlay, of Dundee CID said: “The support of the community following this incident has been vital in helping us identify the male responsible.

“I would like to thank members of the public and local community for coming to the aid of the woman and for the assistance we have received with our investigation.”
