Man due to appear in court, Airdrie

Police Scotland can confirm that a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a man in Airdrie.

Officers were called to a report of a disturbance within a house in Frew Street around 12.30am on Monday 19 August 2019. Colin MacDonald, 59, was found seriously injured a short time later on Rankin Crescent in Greengairs. He was taken to Monklands Hospital and died the following day.

The 29-year-old man is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday 9 October 2019.

Inquiries remain ongoing.
