Appeal after man robbed in Rutherglen

Police in Lanarkshire are appealing for information following a robbery in Rutherglen.

A 30-year-old suffered facial injuries in the incident, which happened in the Seafield Drive area around 12.30am on Sunday, 27 October.

The victim was approached by two unidentified men and assaulted near the road's junction with Ranald Gardens.

He was also robbed of a sum of cash in double figures.

Police are working to identify two men seen in the area at the time.

The first is described as having brown hair and of slim build. He was wearing a grey corded jumper and grey jogging bottoms.

The second man is described as having ginger hair and wearing a blue polo shirt with cream coloured stars on the collar and blue trousers.

Detective Constable Steven Divers said: "I would urge anybody who may have seen or heard a disturbance in the area or who has any other information which could assist to come forward as soon as possible.
