Police Scotland is appealing for information after a 25 year-old man was seriously assaulted in Glasgow in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 8 June 2019.

Just after half past midnight in the early hours of this morning, the man was punched in the face by two men on Union Street, near to Gordon Street.

He was then assaulted by one of the same men shortly afterwards on Pollokshaws Road.

The 25 year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for serious facial and ear injuries and was released after treatment.

The two men were also with two women on both occasions and officers are trying trace all four of those involved in this incident.

Suspect 1: Man of Romanian appearance, grey style tammy hat, dark jacket (possibly brown), black bottoms, black trainers with white patch, carrying a back pack

Suspect 2: Man of Romanian appearance, light coloured hooded top (possibly cream), dark trousers, grey trainers with white soles, grey and cream coloured back pack.

Suspect 3: Woman of Romanian appearance, grey hooded top, long patterned skirt, black backpack carrying blanket or something similar.

Suspect 4: Woman of Romanian appearance, long green/brown coat with blue fur lining at the neck, long patterned skirt, grey backpack

Detective Constable Stephen Palmer Stewart Street Police Office, said:

“We believe that prior to the assault there had been a disagreement between the 25 year-old man and the group, however no matter the circumstances, violence will never be tolerated.

“Officers are currently carrying out CCTV checks within and between the two streets these incidents took place, however we would appeal to anyone who may have seen this group to get in touch with us.

“The city centre would have been busy last night with people out enjoying a Friday night out and therefore somebody must have seen something.”
