Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of Weekly Roundup, bringing you the best in Scottish policing news from the past seven days.
We've been cracking down on drink driving this summer, and on Monday reported that more than 230 motorists were found to be over the limit during the summer campaign. A further eleven were charged with similar offences in the North East just last weekend.
Also this week, Eddie Cairney and Avril Jones were sentenced to at least fourteen years in jail at the conclusion of the Margaret Fleming murder trial, and a teenager was charged in connection with the murder of a man in Camelon last month.
Meanwhile, a man has been charged following a hit and run incident in North East Fife, and in an operation supported by the CID and Violence Reuction Units, two men have been arrested in Edinburgh in connection with organised crime offences.
And finally, today we announced a series of free to attend displays our Dog Unit are putting on over the summer months in Lochinch, where members of the public can come and see some of the training techniques and drills our heroic hounds go through.
That's it for this week, folks. Stay safe, have a great weekend, and we'll see you again next Friday.
