Absconded prisoner traced

Police Scotland can confirm that a 23 year old missing prisoner has been traced and arrested. He absconded from G4S custody outside Aberdeen Sheriff Court at around 11.40am on Wednesday, 16 January.

He was traced during the afternoon of Friday, 18 January, in Aberdeen.

It is anticipated that he will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, 21 January.

Chief Inspector Neil McDonald said, "We are grateful to members of the public who assisted with enquiries and those who shared our earlier appeal."
