Serious assault in Hamilton

Detectives from Lanarkshire Police Division are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident in which a 28-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Hamilton.

Around 4pm on Monday 25 February, police were called to a report of the man having been seriously injured at Low Waters Road, Hamilton.

The man was approached by a vehicle which is believed to be a black Audi A3, where two male occupants got out and assaulted him. The two men then drove off in the car towards the Eddlewood area.

Emergency services attended and the injured man was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General where he was treated for head injuries.

The first suspect is described as being well built, white, 6ft. we was wearing a black coloured puffer jacket.

The second suspect is described as having a tanned complexion, heavy build, 5ft 7 or 8 inches and wearing black coloured clothing.

Detective Constable Gary Milligan, “This was a sickening attack on this man who was left with serious head injuries. The attack took place in broad daylight in a very busy area. It is crucial that we trace these men who are responsible and find out exactly what happened. I would ask anyone with any information to contact police via 101.
