We began the week, still at the Royal Highland Show, and Inspector Jane Donaldson, Rural Crime Co-ordinator was there, speaking about the Scottish Partnership Against Rural Crime.
Meanwhile, officers have seized a quantity of Class A hallucinogenics in Paisley, a man has been charged in connection with drug offences in Galashiels, four motorists are being reported for driving in excess of 100mph on Highland roads, and as the summer holidays descend, police in South West Fife have issued a warning for local youths to be on their best behaviour at the traditional end of term gathering on Silver Sands Beach in Aberdour.
Elsewhere, a man has been jailed for the murder of Alex Stuart in Peebles, and a 39-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault after a road rage incident at the Gogarburn roundabout near Edinburgh.
