A 38-year-old man is expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court today (Friday June 22, 2018) charged with allegedly driving while six times the legal limit.
Officers attended the West Road area of Elgin yesterday afternoon (June 21) at around 4.15pm following a concern call from a member of the public, and the man was subsequently arrested and charged.
Road Policing Inspector Neil Morrison said: "I continue to encourage members of the public to let the Police know as soon as possible if they have concerns about someone drink driving. I'd like to thank the motorist who assisted on this occasion."
He added: "Drink driving must not be regarded as acceptable behaviour. Support and information from the public is invaluable to assist Police Scotland to detect and deter offenders. If you have concerns or information regarding a drink driver please contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 to remain anonymous."
