Cocaine worth £28k recovered in Inverness

Police in Inverness have recovered a quantity of cocaine with a value of approximately £28,000 after a vehicle was stopped in the city.

The drugs were recovered from a car stopped on Longman Road on the evening of Thursday, June 28.

A 69-year-old man has been charged in connection with the recovery and is anticipated to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Detective Sergeant Steven McCabe said: "We are dedicated to removing drugs from our streets and tackling those intent on supplying them in our communities.

"We rely on the support of our communities and members of the public to help tackle the trade in illegal drugs.
