Appeal after man struck by vehicle in Bucksburn

Police Scotland is appealing for information following a serious assault in Bucksburn yesterday evening (Wednesday 11 July, 2018).

As a result of the incident, a man in his 50s was struck by a white Skoda Octavia at around 7:30pm on Oldmeldrum Road in Buckbsurn. The man has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently assisting police with enquiries.

The A947 was closed to allow for investigations to take place but has now reopened.

Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “The area would have been busy at the time and we are urging anyone who was around to contact us. We have spoken to a number of people so far and will continue with this today.

“I’d like to thank the public for their patience with the road closure while we carried out necessary enquiries.
