Witness appeal - Fatal road traffic crash in Newton Stewart

Police Scotland is now able to name the woman killed in the road traffic crash on the A714 road north of Penninghame, Newton Stewart, on Monday 29 January as 73-year-old Annette Glover from Glentrool Village, Newton Stewart. Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

UPDATE - 30/1/18

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to a road traffic crash which happened on the A714 road just north of Penninghame, Newton Stewart on Monday 29 January 2018.

Around 11.25 am a northbound blue coloured Mazda car left the roadway and collided with a tree. The lone female driver died in the crash.

Sergeant Wayne Carnochan of the Roads Policing Unit said, "We want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or who was on the A714 road north of Newton Stewart on Monday morning. Callers can contact Police Scotland on the 101 number quoting the reference PDG 0021360118."

Police Scotland can report that a one vehicle road traffic crash happened on the A714 road just north of Penninghame, Newton Stewart, at around 11.25am today, Monday 29th January.

As a result of this crash, the female driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is currently closed to allow a full crash scene investigation to take place.
