Suspicious fire in Annan

Officers in Annan are investigating a fire which happened at a wheelie bin in Loreburn Court in the town in the early hours of Wednesday 17th January.

Sometime around 6am on Wednesday morning, a wheelie bin outside a house in Loreburn Court in Annan appears to have been set alight. The fire was extinguished by the Fire and Rescue Service. The wheelie bin was destroyed as a result.

Constable Paul Kempsell at Annan said, "This was an extremely reckless act and the consequences could have been much more serious had the fire spread to the property. We are appealing for anyone who may have any information about this fire to call us on the 101 number at Annan, quoting PDG 0012790118.
