Fire damage to bird hide in Forres

Officers in Moray are appealing for information following a fire on an estate near Forres.

Sometime over the weekend between Saturday 13 January 2018 and Monday 15 January 2018, a fire occurred at the Chapelton Farm Wetland and Wildlife Hide, resulting in the hide having been completely destroyed.

Local Investigating Officer, PC Sean Wood, said "The damage caused by fire to the wooden bird hide, has understandably, caused much sadness and disappointment to members of the community here in Forres and I would urge anyone who may have knowledge of the circumstances of when and how the fire came to be started, to come forward with any information."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0926 of 15 January or to remain anonymous call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
