Garage thefts in Dumfries

Published 06 December 2018

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following thefts from two garage premises in the town.

Sometime overnight between Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th December, a total of five catalytic converters were stolen from vans at the garage premises of Cicely Commercials in Brownrigg Loaning, and Arnold Clark in Annan Road. These units are valued around £1000 each.

Constable Peter Meechan at Dumfries said, "Clearly those who carried out these thefts knew what they were taking, and the catalytic converters were removed from the exhaust systems of the vehicles targeted.

"I am asking for anyone who may have been in the area of Annan Road or Brownrigg Loaning late on Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious. Callers can contact Police at Dumfries on 101 and should give the reference number 1040 5/12."
