Appeal after Highland lead thefts

Police Scotland is appealing for information following the theft of lead from the roofs of properties in the Highlands.

Incidents have been reported recently in the Glenmoriston area between Monday, December 17 and Wednesday, December 19.

This followed an incident in the Invergarry area which happened sometime between Sunday. December 16 and the following morning.

Each of the thefts involved lead being removed from roofs at the affected properties and enquiries are ongoing into these incidents.

Preventions and interventions officer Constable Katy Duncan said: "We want people to be vigilant following these thefts, particularly residents in the remote or rural areas.

"Please report any suspicious activity or vehicles to us as soon as possible by calling 101."

Information relating to the theft in Glenmoriston can be reported using reference NN12702/18 or use NP4624/18 for the incident in the Invergarry area.
