Appeal following fatal A87 collision

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following a one vehicle fatal road collision on the A87 at Glengarry.

Officers found the collision at around 8.45am on Monday, December 24, as part of searches to trace Matthew Tomlinson, 29, who had previously been reported missing.

A man was found deceased within the vehicle and he has now been formally identified as Mr Tomlinson, who was from the Dumbarton area.

His family has been updated.

Mr Tomlinson was reported missing on Saturday, December 22, and officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or seen Mr Tomlinson's vehicle, a black Vauxhall Insignia prior to the collision to contact them on 101 quoting reference number NP4719/18.

Road Policing Sergeant Ewan Calder said: "It has been established that Matthew arrived in the Highlands on Thursday, December 20, and he was in Kyle of Lochalsh on Friday, December 21.

"He was reported missing on Saturday when searches to trace him commenced.

"We are appealing to anyone who was in touch with him or who saw his car pior to the collision to contact police."
