Man charged following housebreaking and theft in Galashiels

Police Scotland can confirm that a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a series of housebreakings and thefts in Galashiels.

Three properties were broken into and two vehicles were stolen from the Magdala Terrace area in the early hours of Wednesday 11 April.

The man is scheduled to appear at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday 12 April.

Inspector Bryan Burns from Galashiels Police Station said: “I would like to extend my thanks to members of the local community who assisted officers with our investigations to ensure the swift recovery of the property.

“We will not tolerate these types of crimes and will continue to treat them with the utmost seriousness and are committed to bringing those responsible before the courts.”
