Man charged following bike theft at Glentress in Peebles

Police in the Scottish Borders have charged a 26-year-old man in connection with the theft of two bike from Peebles.

The incident happened about 3.30pm on Monday 24th April in Glentress Forest.

Local officers would like to thank the public for their assistance with the investigation.

He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Wednesday 31st May).

Community Inspector Tony Hodges from Galashiels Police Station said:

“There has been a series of similar incidents in the area and local officers are currently investigating these as a priority”

“Anyone with information that can assist is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
