Man charged in relation to Peterhead housebreakings

A 40-year-old man has been charged and is anticipated to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court today, Thursday, 29 September, in relation to a series of theft by housebreaking and attempted theft by housebreaking in the Peterhead area. 

The incidents happened between 4pm on Tuesday, 27 September, 2016, and 7am on Wednesday, 28 September, 2016, at several commercial premises within the town centre.

The incidents resulted in a significant amount of damage being caused. 

Detective Constable Gary Johnston of the North East Division Proactive Unit, said: "We are dedicated to ensuring that the North East is a safe and secure place for businesses to operate and will continue to combat this type of crime robustly. 

"Anyone with information regarding this incident or who has seen suspicious persons in the area is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous."
