Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of an 88-year-old woman who has been missing since Tuesday 17th June, 2008.
Mary Ferns disappeared from her home in the Howden area of Livingston, and police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.
She is described as being white, around 5ft 3ins tall, of slim build, with short grey hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown three-quarter length jacket, brown skirt, brown shoes and was carrying a brown handbag. She was also carrying a distinctive walking stick with a floral pattern.
When last seen she was believed to be heading for Almondvale Shopping Centre.
A police spokesman said: “This is an extremely distressing time for Mary’s family, as her disappearance is completely out of character and unexpected.
“She’s been gone a long time now, and we are still desperate for any information that might lead us to her.
Anyone who thinks they may have seen her, or knows where she is, is urged to contact police as a matter of urgency.”
