Man sentenced to 10 years in prison for violent and sexual offences in Glasgow

A man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for violent and sexual offences against young girls in Glasgow.
Scott Ijomanta, 38, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, 22 May, 2026 where he was also given a lifelong non-harassment order.
His offences included the rape, assault, and abduction of a 14-year-old girl, and grooming two other 13-year-old girls between 2023 and 2024.
Detective Constable Joe Gear said: "I want to thank the girls who assisted our investigation, their support was instrumental in bringing him to justice.
"Ijomanta's actions were deeply reprehensible, and he will now face the consequences.
"While nothing can undo what they endured, I hope this outcome offers them some form of closure.
"We remain committed to rigorously investigating reports of sexual offences and ensure those responsible are held accountable.
"Anyone who is experiencing or has experienced sexual abuse is encouraged to contact Police Scotland."
