Six arrests in Dundee following proactive operations

Six people have been arrested following proactive operations in Dundee.

On Thursday, 26 March, 2026, officers from the local community team, searched a vehicle within a car park at the rear of High Street, Lochee and discovered 25,000 counterfeit cigarettes and 7.3kg of illicit tobacco. Two men, aged 20 and 22, were arrested and charged in connection with immigration offences and road traffic offences. The vehicle they were using was also seized.

On Saturday, 28 March, 2026, officers, arrested a 51-year-old man in connection with immigration and road traffic offences. Officers also seized four holdalls containing counterfeit cigarettes and tobacco. The matter concerning the cigarettes and tobacco has been passed to the local authority's trading standards department.

Officers also recovered two knives following stop and search operations.

The first occurred on Friday, 27 March, 2026, when a 17-year-old male was stopped around 9pm on Kirk Street.

The second stop was around, 11.20pm on Saturday, 28 March, 2026, when a 58-year-old man was stopped in Elders Court. Both males have been charged in connection with possession of an offensive weapon and will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
